Aberffraw biscuits - Bara Brith

This delicious type of shortbread biscuit is called the Aberffraw biscuit and is said to originate from way back in the 13th century on Anglesey.  This Bara Brith flavoured shortbread is made in the shape of a scallop shell, using good quality butter, flour, sugar and Bara Brith, this being a famous Welsh fruit loaf which is made with currents, tea and spices - giving the shortbread a sweet and spicy flavour.
